Qualifications of David A. Holt, MAI
David Holt has over 40 years of experience in the Real Estate industry. He received an appraisal license from the State of California in 1995, and currently holds Certified General Real Estate Appraiser, License Number AG024303. Further, Mr. Holt holds the designation of MAI from the Appraisal Institute. Dave has been appraising vineyard and winery related properties exclusively since 2001 when he started working for the Farm Credit system. He is the founder of Agri-Comm Appraisal, LLC.
Prior to appraisal, Dave worked in the real estate arena where he analyzed proposed developments, developed residential projects, constructed public works projects, managed public and private construction projects, prepared construction documents for many project types, and was employed as a facilitator between public entities and contractors among other facets.

Appraisal Experience
Properties appraised have predominantly been vineyards and wineries in California, including some of the largest and most complex wineries in Napa and Sonoma counties. Completed projects include over 180 wineries such as Nickel & Nickel in Oakville, Chateau Montelena in Calistoga, and Williams Selyem in Healdsburg, and over 800 vineyards for clients such as Stagecoach Vineyards in Napa, and portions of the Kendall Jackson and Beringer Vineyards holdings in multiple locations in the North Coast.

Appraisal Clients
Mr. Holt has appraised properties on a fee basis for a wide range of clients, including the federal government, national and local banks, insurance companies, investment groups, pension funds, attorneys, accountants, corporations, and individuals.

Mr. Holt is qualified as an expert witness in the United States Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of California, Santa Rosa Division, as well as the Superior Court of California, County of Sonoma, regarding vineyard and winery related land, rural ranch properties, lease analysis, and market values.

Professional Appraisal Instruction
Mr. Holt has authored and presented portions of the Northern California Chapter of the Appraisal Institute's Vineyard Valuation Seminars in 2004, 2006, 2008 & 2015, all of which were approved for continuing education by the California Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers as well as the Appraisal Institute. Mr. Holt also co-authored and presented “Valuing Vineyards, Trends and Outlooks” at the 2016 Lake Tahoe Conference hosted by the Sacramento Chapter of the Appraisal Institute.
